PURPOSE:To check whether or not a gear to be cut is correctly machined, by checking the synchronizing condition of a thread-shaped tool with the gear to be cut by combination of an encoder, rotation detector and an arithmetic unit. CONSTITUTION:A gear hobbing machine, being numerically controlled, has encoders 3, 4, 9, arithmetic unit 5, servomotor 6 and a rotation detector 11. If a hob H is rotated, the unit 5 synchronously rotates a table T and a gear to be cut W with the hob H. Accordingly, the hob H cuts the gear to be cut W. A rotation of the table T and the gear W is detected by the detector 11, and an arithmetic unit 10, receiving a detection signal of the detector, counts a number of pulses of the encoder 9. And a synchronization checker, comparing a number of pulses per revolution of the gear W with the theoretical value, checks a synchronizing condition of the hob H with the gear W. |
