BELT TYPE GRINDER FOR ROLLING ROLL

PURPOSE:To enable uniform grinding of a rolling roll over the entire length thereof by providing a means for adjusting pressing force to a pressing member for a grinding member and changing optionally the pressure distribution of the pressing member. CONSTITUTION:The pressing member 6 which presses a grinding belt 3 to the surface of the rolling roll is provided to the top end of a grinding machine body 2. The member 6 is freely oscillatably pivoted to pressing rod 8 by a pin 9. The means for adjusting pressing force is provided to the top end of the rod 8 so that the rear surfaces at both ends of the member 6 in the transverse direction can be discretely pressed. Said means for adjustment is formed of liquid pressure jacks 11 which are so constituted as to change the pressure distribution in the transverse direction of the pressing surface of the member 6 by taking the reaction at each top end of the rod 8 and extending the piston rods 10 thereof by the liquid pressure to press said rods to the rear surface of the member 6. Pressure sensors 12 are provided to the respective top ends of the rod 8 to detect the stresses which the rods 10 receive.
