PURPOSE:To preheat extremely simply, easily and inexpensively a molten steel passage hole by using a throw-away pipe and introducing and blowing a preheating gas for the inside of a tundish having internally the molten steel passage hole into said passage hole by an ejector effect. CONSTITUTION:The throw-away air pipe 10 is inserted into the molten steel passage hole 3 in the tundish 1. The preheating gas for the tundish inside 8 heated by a preheating burner 9 is introduced and blown into the hole 3 by the ejector effect to preheat the hole 3 when air is blown into the air pipe. The only the cost required is for the throw-away pipe which is extremely lower than the cost of the conventional method using a gas burner or induction heating of a molten steel. The operation is extremely simple and easy. |
