Relates to a threshing machine of the kind having a body 10 with spaced-apart side-walls 18 spanned by a threshing cylinder 20 journalled therein above a concave 26, below which is a grainreceiver 30, a rotatable beater 34 spanning the side-walls upwardly and rearwardly of the cylinder and above a straw-rack 42 lying above the grain-receiver. According to the invention, a grating 40 is fixed to the rear of the concave to extend below the beater but above the forward end of the straw-rack, the grating having a plurality of transverse baffles 54 parallel to the beater-axis 36 and spaced apart to enable the downward escape of grain while the straw is moved rearwardly on to the straw-rack. The grain-receiver comprises an endless apron running along the floor of the body. The grating 40 is pivoted to the rear of the concave, at 62, and has pin-and-slot mountings 68, 70 on the side-walls at the rear. The front of the concave has U-shaped brackets which embrace cams on a rock-shaft 86 adjustable by a bell-crank 92. The rear end of the concave is supported on the outside of the body by eye-bolts 80, whereby the concave may be adjusted to and from the threshing cylinder, either at the rear, by adjustment of the eye-bolts, or at the front by the cams, the slot 70 permitting the grating 40 to accommodate itself accordingly.</p> |
