PURPOSE:To reduce the numerical amount of thyristors and to shorten the size of a controller by replacing a 3-phase bridge converter by a single-phase bridge converter. CONSTITUTION:Single-phase bridge converters 13, 14, 15 are composed of two sets of single-phase full-wave rectifiers connected in anti-parallel with a thyristor 4. A 3-phase transformer 3 is connected with the AC side terminals 13b, 13c, 14b, 14c, 15b, 15c of the converters 13, 14, 15. A 3-phase AC motor 5 is driven by connecting the DC side terminals 13a, 14a, 15a of the converters 13, 14, 15. In other words, three single-phase bridge converters are used instead of 3-phase bridge converter to reduce the number of thyristors to 24 and to reduce the secondary terminals of a transformer to 6 terminals, thereby reducing the number of transformers to one. |
