PURPOSE:To scale down a head, to lighten its weight and to shorten the access time by constituting the moving part of the head with only an optical eye composed of a mirror and an objective lens. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a laser light source 13 is made incident on the optical eye 16 through an access error generator 14 and an access servo actuator 15. After said beam is reflected by the mirror 17, its image is formed at a fine spot on a recording face through the objective lens 18. The light beam reflected by an optical disk 10 reaches the generator 14 through the eye 16, and an access error signal, an information signal, etc., are taken out. The access error signal is fed back to the actuator 15, an a zoom mechanism in the actuator 15 is adjusted so that the feed back amount can be minimized. After a subject track is accessed, the eye 16 is shifted to an indicated track by driving a linear motor installed on a moving mechanism 12.
