PURPOSE:To enable fluctuations in the floating quantity of a head slider to be suppressed by using a quasi-rigid arm and a torsion spring. CONSTITUTION:The slider 11 is supported softly in the vertical direction and rigidly in the in-plane direction by the supporting member of the plate spring 20 of the quasi-rigid arm. The one end of the spring 20 is coupled with a torsion spring part 21 so that the pressing force is given to the slider 11 by the spring part 21. By using a construction consisting of the quasi-rigid arm and the torsion spring, soft spring constant and a higher resonance frequency can be assure to reduce the floating fluctuations of the slider with respect to disturbances.
