PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of a rotational driving device for a magnetic disk by forming a recessed part in a housing into which the driving pin of a magnetic disk can recede and forming a spigot part of the base to the periphery of the recessed part. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic disk 5 is inserted into a holder 6, a pin 13 provided to a lever 12 moves horizontally in resisting the tension of a spring 14 to open a shutter of the disk 5 while the engagement with the lever 11 is released. Thus the holder 6 is lowered along a guide groove 16 of an inject lever 9, a hub 39 and a chucking surface 19 abut on each other and a drive pin 37 recedes into a recessed part 42 of the spigot part 38. As the hub 39 is turned relative to the surface 19, the drive pin is engaged to complete chucking. Since the spigot part 38 of housing of a rotational drive member 18 of the disk 5 is recessed, the thickness of the overall device is reduced.
