PURPOSE:To make a vehicle convenient in use, by providing various drive modes to the vehicle so that various characteristics are determined in accordance with a drive mode setting signal as an input signal and a detected operating status in order to control the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A preferential mode such as, for example, a comfortable drive mode, a low fuel consumption drive mode, a high-sensitive drive mode, etc. is selected by means of a drive mode input device 10 which delivers mode signals 20, 21... to a characteristic control device 30. Modules 301-303 in the characteristic control device 30 receive these mode signal 50-52 and as well operating status signals 20-22 from a status quantity detecting device 40, and therefore, deliver control value signals for controlling the suspension and the quantity of fuel injection to cope with the selected drive mode, to devices to be controlled 70. With this arrangement, a suitable drive mode may be selected in compliance with the request of the driver, thereby it is possible to make the vehicle convenient in use. |
