<p>For monitoring physiological parameters in humans a harness (10) is provided with a thoraco-abdominal band (12) incorporating an electro-conductive elastomeric sensor (13) the stretch movements of which are electronically monitored by unit (15) which incorporates a keyboard (16) for entering personal and physical characteristic data. Analysing circuitry within unit (15) effects a frequency analysis of the signal received from the sensor (13) to identify its three principal frequencies, respectively representing breathing rate, total body movement, and heart rate. Calculation circutry within unit (15) effects evaluation of consumed calories and fitness factor.</p> |
