PURPOSE:To form automatically a loopback transmission line if a fault takes place by controlling nodes connected to a loop transmission line with the same hardware and the same program so as to apply loop form connection properly depending on a transmission line independently of the number of the nodes. CONSTITUTION:Each node consists of a means using the own transmission clock at initializing to generate a frame pattern where only bits corresponding to the own alarm bit field are selected as normal bits and other bits are selected as alarm bits and sending the pattern to a terminal WS, a means detecting the alarm bit field based on a reception clock signal extracted from the frame pattern received at a terminal R and generated by other node, a means discriminating whether the normal bit in the alarm bit field has a higher priority than the bit location added by the own node or not, and a means stopping the sending of the own transmission clock when it is decided that the node having the higher priority than the own node is normal, adding the own alarm bit to the detected alarm bit field by using the extracted reception clock to generate a frame pattern and sending the pattern to the terminal WS.
