METHOD FOR READING INFORMATION RECORDED ON OPTICAL CARD

PURPOSE:To read properly information on a cracked part by making up the crack on the surface of a transparent protective layer by a soft transparent member. CONSTITUTION:As an optical card 1 is transported by a card feed roller 9, a roller 10 rotates by pressing the optical card 1 with the elasticity of the soft transparent material 13. If the transparent protective layer 5 of the surface optical card 1 is cracked, the soft transparent material 13 goes around the cracked part due to pressing force so as to make up said part, and irregular reflection due to the crack can be prevented. Thus an optical system 2 disposed in the inside of the roller 10 can read out information recorded on the optical card 1 through the roller 10 made of the soft transparent material and its peripheral soft transparent material 13 without the influence of the crack.
