NEW MATERIAL:A pyran derivative mixture expressed by formula I (R1 is H or CH3; R2 is CH2 or CH3; any one of X, Y and Z is double bond, and other two are single bond). EXAMPLE:A mixture of 2,4-dimethyl-6-(2,4-dimethyl-3-cylcohexenyl)-3,6-dihydro-2H- pyran with 4,6-dimethyl-2-(2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexenyl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyran and 2-(2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexenyl)-6-methyl-methylenetetrahydropyran. USE:Useful as a raw material for producing perfume compositions, having improved stability and lasting fresh green note like tomato leaf. PREPARATION:2,4-Dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxyaldehyde expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III in the presence of an acid catalyst to give the mixture expressed by formula I.
