PURPOSE:To drastically reduce frictinal resistance by embedding lubricating material in a matched part provided in the side rail part of the slider. CONSTITUTION:Notched parts 21 are formed on the side rails 2 of main body of the slider 1 for producing the floating force. In these notched parts are embedded with the lubricating material 22 so that the frictional resistance between the surfaces of the slider 1 and the magnetic disk is drastically reduced. As a result, the slider travels stably with respect to the disk surface, and floating stability is improved.
