METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SYNCHRONOUS CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To obtain stably an ingot having an excellent surface shape with respect to a continuous casting method in which the ingot is drawn from a casting mold in synchronization with endless belts by running the molten metal poured into the casting mold from a nozzle toward the region proximity to the endless belts and nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Continuous casting is executed by inserting a pouring nozzle 10 into the aperture on one end side of the casting mold 5 formed between the upper endless belt 1 consisting of metallic blocks 3 and the lower endless belt 2 consisting of metallic blocks 4. The end face 10a of the nozzle aperture is formed into the shape of which the inside size expands gradually toward the inside wall of the mold 5 so as to run the molten metal poured into the mold 5 from the nozzle 10 toward the region proximity to the nozzle 10 and the belts 1, 2. The connection of the solidified shell to the solidified shell formed and grown on the nozzle end face and formed on the mold side is thus obviated and the ingot having the good surface characteristic is stably obtd.
