JOINING DEVICE OF ROLLED STOCK

PURPOSE:To join strongly without descaling by constituting to perform joining by making a hole on either one part of the rear end part of the preceding rolled stock or the tip part of the succeeding rolled stock, by overlapping the both and by performing a thermit welding on the part of the hole thereof. CONSTITUTION:The end face is shaped by cutting the tip part of a rolled stock S1 and the rear end part of a rolled stock S2. Plural holes A are opened by a press 7 when the rear end part of the preceding rolled stock S2 passes through the press 7. The rear end part of the preceding rolled stock S2 is slightly lifted by the lift of a roller 10 with the operation of the hydraulic cylinder 9 of an overlapping device 8 when the rear end part thereof approaches a clamp device 11. The tip part of the succeeding rolled stock S1 gets in thereunder and both rolled stock S1 and S2 are overlapped. Both rolled stock S1, S2 are adhered closely with pressing the before and behind of the punched hole A by the clamp device 11 as well as the descent of the roller 10 by the operation of the hydraulic cylinder 9 of an overlap device 8 simultaneously. Both rolled stocks are then joined strongly because of the scale being reduced by causing a thermit reaction inside the hole A with the ignition by an ignition plug 16.
