Device for three-dimensional positioning of any two pieces including two parts 1, 2, each comprising a means 12, 13 for gripping the pieces to be positioned, connected by struts 3 of adjustable length which are not parallel and whose ends are disposed respectively on two circumferences 5 and are hinged to the parts 1, 2. The parts 1, 2 may include two rings 4, 5 connected by rods 6 on which movable supports 7, 12, 14 are secured. There may be an even number, advantageously 6, of the struts 3, and they may form in pairs the two sides of a triangle whose third side is constituted by the chord of an arc of a ring 5. The adjustment of the length of the struts 3 is advantageously made by means of a device simulating the respective spatial positions of any two pieces. The three-dimensional positioning device according to the invention has a specific application in bone surgery where it is used to implement the method developed by the Soviet doctor Illizarov. <IMAGE>
