CONSTRUCTION OF CASTING MOLD OF CONTINUOUS CASTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of the copper plate of a casting mold with electromagnetic stirring and to fasten securely the copper plate to maintain the exact inside wall surface of the casting mold by machining the part of the flat copper plate except the mounting parts thereof to a smaller thickness and fastening mechanically such copper plate by way of dovetail grooves to a backup frame which forms water flow passages. CONSTITUTION:The part of the flat copper plate 10 of the continuous casting mold 10 is machined to the smaller thickness 11 except the mounting parts 12 thereof. Such copper plate is bolted 16 to the dovetail grooves of the backup frame 14 forming the water flow cooling passages 15. The cooling effect of the copper plate 10 of the casting mold of the electromagnetic stirring type is improved and the copper plate is securely bound by fastening through the thick wall parts 12, by which the inside wall surface of the mold 10 is made exact.
