PURPOSE:To obtain a titled installation capable of systematizing its whole line and improving its productivity by providing the stock lines of spare stocks to the front and inside of a heat retaining furnace and to the front of a rolling installation on the direct transporting line of stocks from a continuous casting installation to the rolling one. CONSTITUTION:A billet delivered from a continuous casting installation (a), is fed to a charging bed (d) and is further fed to a heating furnace (i) equipped with hearth rolls through a carry-in table (e) of heat retaining furnce (q). Next, the billet heated in the furnace (i) is fed to a rolling installation (l). On the other hand, the furnace (q) prevents spare stocks from cooling to absorb the imbalance between the production rates of continuous casting and rolling by utilizing the waste heat of a combustion gas of furnace (i). Further, since the furnace (q) is burned together with the furnace (i) at the time of the long-term suspension, etc. of installation (a) to heat the cold stocks up to the rolling temperature. By this constitution, the whole line can be systematized, and its productivity if improved by reducing the number of operators and malfunctions. |
