PURPOSE:To reduce difference of brightness between picture elements on both sides of a boundary line to a proper value and enable to improve naturalness of boundary parts of a picture by providing a boundary detecting section that extracts boundary information from mask outline of mask picture information and a brightness correcting section. CONSTITUTION:Picture A information 1 is inputted to a picture segmenting section 4 and picture B information 2 is inputted to a picture segmenting section 5, and mask picture information 3 is inputted to segmenting sections 4, 5 and a boundary line detecting section 21. Output of the segmenting sections 4, 5 is inputted to a picture composing section 6, and the composing section 6 combines the two picture information and outputs composite picture information to a brightness correcting section 20. In this case, as picture information 3 is inputted to the detecting section 21, boundary line information is extracted from outline of the mask and inputted to the correcting section 20. The correcting section 20 assumes a broken line connecting middle points of each segment of line of the boundary line, and corrects brightness of each picture element on which the broken line passes. Thus, difference of brightness between picture elements on both sides of the boundary line is reduced to a proper value and naturalness of the boundary part of pictures can be improved. |
