In an anti-skidding device for a vehicle tyre having an inner and an outer holder and a running network clamped between them, there is provision for the running network to be formed by a belt on which gripper elements are attached which protrude from at least one side of the belt. In this way it is ensured that a good anti-skidding effect is provided and relatively high vehicle speeds can be achieved, while the anti-skidding device experiences very little wear.
