PURPOSE:To easily seal both tube ends and manufacture a luminous tube with stable quality by filling a section between a tube end wall and an introduction conductor, a section between the tube end and an exhaust tube and the like with fused composition for sealing, using capillarity. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 4a and 4b are fixed to the inner ends of an introduction conductor 3a and an exhaust tube 3b inserted through the permeation holes 2a and 2b of tube end walls 1a and 1b. and having diameters slightly smaller than said permeation holes. Then, the ring-shaped plates 6a and 6b made of heat resisting metals or ceramic and the like and the composition for sealing heated and molded in a ring-shape are set to a section that is protruded externally from the end walls 1a and 1b sequentially adhering to the outside surface of the end walls 1a and 1b. Then compounds 7a, 7b are heated, fused and used for sealing the luminous tube. Besides, a section between the end wall 1a and introduction conductor 3a, a section between the end wall 1b and exhaust tube 3b, and a section between the end walls 1a and 1b and ring-shaped plates 6a and 6b are filled with fused composition 7a and 7b for sealing, using capillarity. |
