The invention relates to an eccentric worm screw pump having a stator which has a deformable inner layer and, surrounding it, a harder outer layer which is slotted and whose diameter can be reduced by means of a tension clamp. The object is to be able to retension these pumps, even if the outer layers are very hard, and to manufacture them more simply. To achieve this object, according to the invention at least one slot is provided in the outer layer, which slot perforates only one end face of the stator, while the slot at the other end ends at a distance from the end face. Furthermore, the two layers are manufactured separately and they then interlock in a positive manner when they have been joined. Moreover, the inner layer is provided with a flange-like expansion which can be clamped by the stator connection bodies.
