Clay building material

The invention relates to a clay building material as a mixture of clay and fine-sandy to stony constituents. To reduce the dry shrinkage rate to almost zero, to increase the structural stability and to reduce the sensitivity to moisture and frost, the clay building material contains a mineral, granular and pressure-resistant aggregate having a grain diameter of preferably 1 to 32 mm in such a quantity that the grains of the aggregate form a supporting structure and hence a clay building material which shrinks hardly at all on drying of the clay.
