The process is based on the particles being precipitated on to electrically charged drops of a scrubbing liquid. The drops are produced in spraying zones (4, 5, 6), which follow successively in a cascade manner, and are precipitated. The particle-laden gas stream is conducted transversely to the direction of motion of the drops through the spraying zones (4, 5, 6). The charged drops result in each case by the separation of the scrubbing liquid at the spraying edge of a precipitation electrode under the combined action of gravity and the electric field. In the spraying zone, the drops are accelerated in each case through the electric field to the opposing precipitation electrode of opposite polarity where they combine to form a coherent liquid film, which again breaks up into drops at the spraying edge of this electrode. The scrubbing liquid is preferably water, to which wetting agents are added. <IMAGE> |
