PURPOSE:To enable realization of a bold and saturated printing without superposing by providing the first and second registers in which dot pattern data are stored and a logic circuit, and in addition, the third register in which arithmetical results of logical sum are stored. CONSTITUTION:When a dot patterns transmitted from an information processing instrument 14 through a printer interface 15 are set at a register 21 and processed, the patterns are loaded on a register 22. Printing patterns to be printed are taken out from a character generator 17 one by one, and transmitted to a printer 11 through the printer interface 15 from a printing dot transmitter portion 16; and, in the printer 11 where a command to start a bold printing is received, the content of the register 22 is cleared. When dot patterns are received by a printing control 12, the control 12 puts out the data to an OR circuit 24 (logical sum circuit). The OR circuit 24 takes in data from the register 22, too, and stores the arithmetic results of the logical sums of both in the register 23, and the data of the register 23 are transmitted to a printing portion 13 and printing is carried out. |
