PURPOSE:To obtain the picture with a high brightness by using a liquid crystal to execute the rotation of the polarizing surface at every picture element part based upon the polarizing beam splitter and a video signal as a light source, a polarizing element and an photodetecting element. CONSTITUTION:A receiver consists of an xenon arc lamp 5, a polarizing beam splitter 8, liquid crystal devices 10L and 10R for right and left eye pictures, a polarizing beam splitter 11 and a light projecting lens 14. Since the rotation of the polarizing surface of polarization of both splitters 8 and 11 is executed by the liquid crystal devices 10L and 10R for respective picture element parts, from the splitter 11, an image light l* of the left eye picture and an image light l* of the right eye picture by the polarization having a polarizing surface intersecting orthogonally with each other are obtained, and these are projected on a screen 15 by the light projecting lens 14. |
