PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength by providing a seal material for reinforcement to the periphery of a seal material to peripheral parts of analog holes of a liquid-crystal display element constituted so that outer peripheral parts of two electrode substrates and the peripheral parts of the analog holes are sealed. CONSTITUTION:Two upper and lower electrode substrates 1 and 2 where electrodes are formed are made of a microsheet such as a glass plate of <=0.3mm and the analog holes 1a and 2a are formed nearly at center parts. Those upper and lower electrode substrates 1 and 2 are so constituted that their outer peripheral parts and the peripheral parts of the analog holes 1a and 2a are sealed with seal materials 3 and 4 respectively. Further, the seal material 5 for reinforcement is provided to the periphery of the seal material 4 at the peripheral parts of the analog holes 1a and 2a. Consequently, the parts of the analog holes 1a and 2a are reinforced and the mechanical strength is improved. the seal material 5 for reinforcement is formed simultaneously with the seal materials 3 and 4, so the cost never increases.
