: The present invention relates to a video tape recorder which includes a cylinder provided to rotate about its axis. A magnetic tape moves along a portion of the cylinder surface such that the cylinder surface obliquely traverses the magnetic tape. At least one pair of magnetic heads are mounted on the cylinder surface for recording and reproducing video signals on the tape. Another pair of magnetic heads are mounted on the cylinder for recording and reproducing audio signals on the tape.
