PURPOSE:To provide a vinyl acetate resin emulsion adhesive exhibiting a long accumulation time with respect to application and having excellent continuous application properties, by copolymerizing a vinyl acetate monomer with an acrylamide derivative and a methacrylate. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl acetate monomer is copolymerized with an acrylamide derivative (e.g. N-methylolacrylamide) and 1-10wt% of a methacrylate in an aqueous medium containing 1-20wt% of a protective colloid (e.g. PVA) to obtain a vinyl acetate resin emulsion adhesive of which the solid resin content is 60wt% or higher. EFFECT:A great improvement in accumulation time with respect to application over conventional vinyl acetate emulsion adhesives can be achieved because the water retention of the emulsion is suitably maintained, causing the rate of absorption of water in an adhered, the rate of evaporation of water into the atmosphere and the rate of the fusing of emulsion particles to be lowered.
