PURPOSE:To obtain a negative image high in image quality and contrast suitable to graphic arts by incorporating a specified compd. in a silver halide photographic emulsion layer formed by at least one, or in another hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material has at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer,, and this emulsion layer or at least one other hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a compd. represented by the formula shown on the right in which R<1> or aryl; R<2> is H, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, or aryloxy; G is carbonyl, sulfonyl, sulfoxy, phosphoryl, or iminomethylene; each of Q<1>, Q<2> is both H, or one is H and the other alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, or acyl; and at least one group having disulfide bond substitutes R<1> or R<2>. |
