The articulation head is provided for an awning arm which is fastened on an articulation ring and can be pivoted with respect to two ends parts of the articulation head. They are fastened on a carrying rod and, with the interposition of the articulation ring, can be braced with respect to each other by two clamping parts. When the clamping parts are released, the articulation ring is held in its particular adjustment position by means of friction elements which are connected to the carrying rod such that they cannot pivot. The awning arm is held in its particular position as a result of the friction. By overcoming the frictional force in order to adjust the inclination of the awning arm, the articulation ring with the awning arm can then be manually pivoted into the desired position.
