A scraping device (4, 6, 10) in a settling basin (1). The scraping device pushes the settled sludge down into a sludge hopper (2). A pull cable (5) pulls the scraping device forwards and backwards along the bottom of the basin. The scraping device comprises a sledge (4), a carrier (6) and a scraping blade (10) supported by the carrier. The carrier (6) and hence the scraping blade (10) is guided by means of the pull cable (5), because the pull cable is provided with a holder (15) on the carrier (6). When the pull cable (5) starts pulling the scraping device (4, 6, 10) towards the sludge hopper (2), it initially lowers the front edge of the scraping device (10) against the bottom of the basin (1), before the scraping device performs its scraping, assisted by the pull cable, and when the pull cable (5) pulls the scraping device (4, 6, 10) in the opposite direction, it initially elevates the scraping blade (10) before the return movement of the scraping device by means of the pull cable along the bottom of the basin is taking place. |
