PURPOSE:To aim at providing an axle support structure for a motor-cycle, which is lightweight while having a high strength, by supporting a stepped axle having large and small diameter sections such that one end of a hub is supported on the large diameter section by means of a needle bearing and the other end of the hub is supported on the small diameter section by means of a ball bearing. CONSTITUTION:An axle 2 comprises a large diameter section 2a and a small diameter section 2b which are integrally incorporated together, and a hollow section 2c which is bored therethrough. Further, one end of a hub 4 is supported on the large diameter section 2a through the intermediary of a needle bearing and the other end of the hub 4 is supported on the small diameter section 2b through the intermediary of a ball bearing 13. Further, the hub 4 is formed on the needle bearing 12 side to have a diameter smaller than that on the ball bearing 13 side. With this arrangement, the inner diameter D of the bored hollow section 2c may be made to be large in the large diameter section 2a so that it is possible to restrain the strength of the axle from lowering while the axle may be made to be lightweight. |
