PURPOSE:To clean the tip of a reproducing stylus completely by using plural cleaning pads made of different materials as a cleaning member. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing stylus 5 after reproduction moves towards its stand-by position as shown by an arrow A and a cleaning position is detected to slide the reproducing stylus 5 on cleaning members 6a and 6b by a stylus force applying means. At this time, one cleaning pad, e.g. 6a uses a short-nap material and cleans principally a sliding surface where the reproducing stylus 5 slides on a disk 1 and the other cleaning pad, e.g. 6b uses a long-nap material to remove dust sticking on the periphery of the tip of the reproducing stylus 5. Thus, the cleaning pads 6a and 6b made of different materials are used, so the reproducing stylus 5 is cleaned completely.
