PURPOSE:To make the external form of a transmission compact by composing an input from a torque converter through a bevel gear mechanism and the reversing force of a stator through a turbine, and then changing the rotational direction of power rectangularly to transmit the power by a clutch to a differential mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A transmission provided between a torque converter 10 and a differential mechanism 14 is composed of a bevel gear mechanism 32, and clutches 40a, 40b etc. The powers of a stator shaft 22a and of a turbine shaft 16a are composed through the bevel gear mechanism 32 into one power, and it rotates intermediate shafts 38a, 38b reversely each other. The power is therefore transmitted through the clutch 40a to the differential mechanism 14. Consequently it becomes unnecessary to use a usual spiral bevel pinion gear and spiral bevel ring gear, and production cost can be reduced, and the longitudinal length of a transmission can be also shortened. |
