摘要 PURPOSE:To improve reproducing output by specifying the relation between the thick ness of a vertical anisotropic magnetic film and the gap length of a ring head when the magnetic recording body formed by laminating a soft magnetic film and the verti cal anisotropic magnetic film on the surface of a base material is recorded and repro duced by the ring head. CONSTITUTION:The soft magnetic film 1b is formed of a soft magnetic material on the top surface of an electric insulating base material 1a by vacuum deposition, etc., to proper thickness and the vertical anisotropic hard magnetic film 1c is formed of a ferromagnetic material on the top surface of the film 1b by vertical vapor deposition to proper thickness. The relation of the gap length (g) of the ring head and the thickness (t) of the vertical anisotropic magnetic film when this magnetic recording body 1 is so set that g/2>=t or g/2>=t+l when a protection film 1d having thickness l is formed. Consequently, lines of magnetic flux generated by a magnetic pole (a) enters the soft magnetic film 1b vertically from the head 2 and reaches the other magnetic pole (b) through the film 1b in a U shape. Thus, mutual operation with th soft magnetic film is produced, so an intense vertical magnetic field is established and the vertical anisotropic magnetic film 1c is recorded vertically, so that its reproducing output is improved.
