In the chuck body (1) there is arranged a drive system for driving the clamping jaws, which system is comprised of 2, 3, 4, 5 or more threaded spindles, said spindles being driven by a worm gearing and by a synchronous drive in the form of a chain or a toothed belt (5) driven by an electric motor (4). The threaded spindles act each on a nut (6) connected to a lower part of the guided jaw (7) which has a centred action with all other parts of the jaws. There is thus obtained a clamping chuck of which all lower parts of the jaws are centrally driven by the threaded spindles and the worm gearings; the self-locking action of the spindles and the worm gearings is ideal for the clamping chuck. Externally to the clamping chuck the clamping device is acted upon by an electric control system. |
