PURPOSE:To improve the ionization efficiency and reduce the amount of NOX by installing an electrode fixing plate onto an electrode and installing said electrode fixing plate onto the edge surface of the electrode parallel to an intake manifold. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 is installed onto an electrode fixing plate 1c, and the reduction of the voltage applied onto the electrode due to the static electric capacity between the electrode 2 of an ion generator and an intake manifold 6 is prevented. The electrode fixing plate 1c is installed onto the surface at the edge of the electrode parallel to the intake manifold 6 so as to cut-off the electric field which the electrode 2 generates. A space is formed between the electrode fixing plate 1c and the inner wall of the intake manifold 6 so that mixed gas passes through the inside of the intake manifold 6. Thus, the ionization efficiency can be improved, and the voltage applied onto the electrode can be lowered, and the amount of NOX can be reduced. |
