PURPOSE:To insert an optical bundle to a protective tube lacking elasticity without damaging by dividing a mouthpiece provided in the front end part of the optical fiber bundle into an inner mouthpiece and an outer mouthpiece and making the outside diameter of the inner mouthpiece smaller than the inside diameter of the protective tube. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 7 and 8 are led into the first protective tube 11 lacking elasticity, and optical fiber bundles 7 and 8 are not damaged then because they are not held directly but are led into the tube 11 by a tractive string 17 engaged with a front part 16 of an inner mouthpiece 13. Since the mouthpiece is divided into the inner mouthpiece 13 and an outer mouthpiece 18 and optical fiber bundles 7 and 8 are inserted to protective tubes 11 and 12 and the outer mouthpiece 18 is fitted and fixed to the inner mouthpiece 13 thereafter, the inside diameter of each of tubes 11 and 12 can be made smaller than the outside diameter of the outer mouthpiece 18, and the diameter of the whole of the device is reduced.
