PURPOSE:To miniaturize a staining and destaining container, by performing the staining and destaining of a support in such a state that the support is suspended in the staining and destaining container. CONSTITUTION:A support 1 after electrophoresis is deeply sent into a staining and destaining container 11 from an electrophoretic box 20 through a feed-in port 10a by rollers 12. If the rollers 12 are stopped when the vicinity of the rear end part of the support 1 reached the position of the rollers 12, the support 1 is held the staining and destaining container 11 in such a state that one end thereof is held between the rollers 12 and suspended therefrom. In this state, a staining solution is injected in the staining and destaining container 11 from a staining solution nozzle 13 to perform a staining process. After the completion of staining, the staining solution in the container 11 is discarded through a drain hose 15 and a destaining solution is injected in the container 11 from a destaining solution nozzle 14 to perform the destaining of the support 1. Because staining is performed in a support suspending state, the staining and destaining container can be miniaturized. |
