PURPOSE:To produce an antistatic cathode-ray tube having a superior antistatic film by coating the panel surface with a transparent conductive film made of a resin composition consisting of a thermoplastic resin. an alkali metal salt and an ionic dissociation accelerator for the alkali metal salt. CONSTITUTION:The panel surface of a cathode-ray tube 1 is coated with a transparent conductive film 2 made of a resin composition consisting of 100pts. wt. a thermoplastic resin such as an acrylic resin, 0.1-30pts.wt. an alkali metal salt and 1-30pts.wt. a polar aprotic solvent used as an ionic dissociation accelerator for the alkali metal salt. Since the alkali metal salt dissolved in the resin composition has already undergone ionic dissociation, when electric charge is applied the ions of the alkali salt migrate in the resin composition to neutralize electric charges thereby exhibiting an antistatic effect. This effect is increased by the use of the above ionic dissociation accelerator. Accordingly, it is possible to form an antistatic film with good durability at low cost.
