PURPOSE:To control accurately the number of tracks to be recorded regardless of the disk standard by supplying the value of a track address produced from an address generator to a comparator together with the number of standard tracks and controlling the recording end timing by the output signal of the comparator. CONSTITUTION:The 1st comparator 8 delivers an instruction (a) for start of the plastic generation to a plastic generator 6 when the coincidence is obtained between the relative position between the center of a disk and a recording head detected by a relative position detector 1 and the value set by a recording start position setting device 3. At the same time, the comparator 8 delivers a closing instruction (b) to a switch 7. Then the 2nd comparator 10 gives an instruction (c') to the generator to stop the generation of addresses and an opening instruction (d') to the switch 7 when the recording process proceeds and the coincidence is obtained between the address produced from the generator 6 and the device of a track number setting device 9. Then the supply of signals is stopped to the disk, and this stopping timing is decided by the set value of the device 9.
