PURPOSE:To provide a position adjustor for a printing head which is inspective and capable of contriving a reduction in space, by a construction wherein a carriage movable in the axial direction of each shaft is provided, and a manual adjusting member is provided for changing the height of a bearing for supporting an auxiliary shaft relatively to the height of the carriage. CONSTITUTION:A movable cam 16 can be moved in parallel with the auxiliary shaft 13 while being guided by a groove 15a of a slide cam 15. A positioning spring 18 is energized by a wavy projection on the lower surface of the cam 16 to position the cam 16. With the cam 16 moved in the direction of arrow A, the cam 15 is moved in the direction of arrow B, and a carriage base 20 is lowered in the direction of arrow C. By this, the carriage base 120 is rotated counterclockwise with a main shaft 27 as a center, and the gap between a platen 25 and a printing head 23 is enlarged. The gap can be reduced by the reverse operation. Accordingly, the gap between the head 23 and the platen 25 can be changed inexpensively and in a space-saving manner. |
