PURPOSE:To prevent the X-Y directional moving device of a lathe tool post from deforming thermally and make its highly precise moving action possible by removing heat generated in a feed screw etc. to cool them without providing any special mechanism or device for the above moving device. CONSTITUTION:The first feed mechanism 3 moves a nut element 5 straight ahead by means of the revolution of a feed screw 4 to slide a sliding element 2. The second sliding element 12 is mounted on the sliding element 2, and slided by a feed mechanism 13. Thus the sliding elements 2, 12 can slide in X-Y directions respectively. When the sliding element 2 moves to the right, the volume of an air reservoir 22 increases, and air therefore flows from an air reservoir 24a into the air reservoir 22. Consequently the open air flows into the moving device through an air path 27, a space 21 and communicating hole 26 to cool a feed screw 14, a nut element 15 etc. When the sliding element 2 moves to the left, the air also flows in the same way to cool the above parts. In addition, the air is ventilated as the air flows. When the nut element 15 moves, the air flow is also caused in the space 21 on the above-mentioned principle. |
