PURPOSE:To prevent the disturbance of meniscus and to obtain an ingot having a good surface characteristic by disposing a baffle plate and receiving plate in a pouring nozzle, forming a discharge port into a slit shape and immersing the top end thereof into a molten steel. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel flowing out of a restrictor 5 collides against the baffle plate 6 and the molten steel is dispersed by the receiving plate 7 uniformly in the transverse direction of drums 3, 3' and is accumulated in the nozzle. The molten steel overflows from the receiving plate into the discharge port 8. The pouring nozzle is immersed below the meniscus and a pool 10 is formed at the port 8. The sectional area of the port 8 is made extremely larger than the sectional area of the restrictor 5 and therefore the molten steel flow gently out of the port 8. |
