PURPOSE:To provide a recording method by which running cost can be lowered by using an inexpensive film as a transfer material and the material can be stably fed, by a method wherein a heat-resistant film having on one side thereof a high molecular weight composition layer having a surface roughened by fine particles is disposed between a thermal head and a transfer material, with the composition layer on the head side. CONSTITUTION:The heat-resistant film 3, the transfer material 4 and an image-receiving material 5 are supported between the thermal head 1 and a platen roller 2. The transfer material 4 consists of a base 6 and a coloring material layer 7. The film 3 has a high molecular weight composition layer 8 on one side thereof. For stable running on the head, the film 3 comprises, on the side for contact with the head, the high molecular weight composition layer which comprises at least a high molecular weight substance and fine particles so that the surface thereof is roughened by the fine particles. a primary particle diameter of the fine particles is preferably not larger than 6mum, and ultra fine particles with a particle diameter of not larger than 0.1mum are particularly favorable for minutely roughening the surface of the composition layer. The particles are those of alumina, titanium oxide, anhydrous silica, hydrated silica or the like. |
