A dental retention pin comprising an inner section to be inserted in the hard dental substance and an outer section allocated to the filling structure, is coated on its top surface, at least in the region of its outer section, with a layer of an adhesion promoter which undergoes a chemical reaction with the filling material, so that the adhesion between the metal pin and the filling material is not just a mechanical adhesion but also a chemical adhesion. |
