A roller shutter system is proposed, which serves for partial darkening of window openings. The system is characterised in that it can be stopped in any position and in that the region covered by the roller shutter can be completely darkened. The system is particularly suitable for rooms, in which for example projection walls or screens are to be kept free from insolation.
