PURPOSE:To prevent uneven intermittent injection by supplying fuel exceeding fuel amount to be injected to a pump chamber of an injection plunger in a injector in low speed and load of an engine to adjust fuel amount with a spill of a pump chamber in a pressure plunger. CONSTITUTION:This injector 12 has a pressure cylinder 51, injection cylinder 52 and nozzle body 53 arranged in series in a body 50. A pressure plunger 55 operated through a cam follower 56 is inserted in the pressure cylinder 51 to define a pressure pump chamber 56 below the sliding direction of the plunger. Also, an injection plunger 59 is inserted in the injection cylinder 52 to define an injection pump chamber 76 below the sliding direction of the plunger. An idle control chamber 154 is defined between the pressure cylinder 51 and the body 50, and the internal pressure in said chamber 154 is adjusted through an electromagnetic valve (not shown) in detecting idling so that the opening areas of a spill port 155 and fuel path 152 are varied to control injection amount.
